US Spot ETF Price & Volume

Adding daily stock price and traded volume for US-traded spot ETFs, with one time series per ETF ticker. This makes it easier to compare how individual products track the underlying crypto asset across the full ETF landscape.

  • US Spot ETF Price — Daily closing stock price of US-traded spot ETFs that hold the selected crypto asset as their underlying (e.g. IBIT, FBTC, GBTC for BTC; ETHA, FETH, ETHE for ETH). One series per ETF ticker.

  • US Spot ETF Trading Volume — Daily trading volume of US-traded spot ETFs that hold the selected crypto asset as their underlying. One series per ETF ticker.

Beacon Chain Data Update

We improved the precision and reliability of our data source for the Beacon Chain, Ethereums consensus layer. This causes minor changes to a subset of our Consensus, Staking and Mining metrics for ETH. Moreover, derived metrics related to ETH supply may be affected as well.

Digital Asset Treasury Company Price & Volume

Introducing new Digital Asset Treasury company metrics, enabling users to track the stock price and traded volume of publicly listed companies that hold crypto assets on their balance sheet. For each selected asset, users can retrieve all related treasury companies in a single API call, with one time series per ticker. This makes it easier to compare how DAT equities behave relative to the underlying crypto asset and assess which names exhibit stronger or weaker equity beta to crypto market movements.

IBIT Options ATM Implied Volatility

Adding model-interpolated At-The-Money (ATM) implied volatility for IBIT ETF options across standard tenors and an aggregated multi-tenor view. Viewing ATM IV over time gives a normalized view of volatility expectations which will often rise and fall with realized volatility and market sentiment. IBIT options follow US equity market hours (9:30 AM–4:00 PM ET, Mon–Fri); data will appear flat outside trading sessions and on weekends/holidays. Available on Professional plan.

IBIT Options Skew Metrics

Further expanding the IBIT options suite with skew analytics: the IBIT Skew Index and its components, unnormalized call–put delta skew across strikes, and normalized 25-delta skew by tenor. Available on Professional plan.

IBIT Skew Index & Components:

  • IBIT Skew Index — Single measure of option market asymmetry for the IBIT ETF, integrating option prices across broader sections of the surface. Positive values indicate higher upside-focused implied volatility; negative values indicate higher downside-focused implied volatility, typical when downside hedging is dominant.

  • IBIT Skew Ratio — Ratio of upside to downside implied volatility. Values above 1 indicate higher upside-focused implied volatility; values below 1 indicate higher downside-focused implied volatility.

  • IBIT Upside Implied Volatility — Upside-focused implied volatility derived from OTM calls, integrated across strikes and time-weighted to fixed tenors. One of the two core components of the Skew Index.

  • IBIT Downside Implied Volatility — Downside-focused implied volatility derived from OTM puts, integrated across strikes and time-weighted to fixed tenors. One of the two core components of the Skew Index.

IBIT Call-Put Delta Skew (unnormalized):

Time series of model-interpolated call–put implied volatility skew by tenor. Each data point represents the difference between call and put IV at the target delta, projected onto standard tenors, expressed directly in IV points (call minus put).

BTC: IBIT Call-Put Delta Skew (Delta 25)

IBIT 25 Delta Skew Normalized (by tenor):

25 Delta Skew calculated as the difference between a 25-delta put's implied volatility and a 25-delta call's implied volatility, normalized by ATM implied volatility.

IBIT Implied Volatility Heatmaps & Crypto Options IV Rank

Expanding the IBIT options suite released on 17 April with model-interpolated implied volatility heatmaps across delta and moneyness, and adding new IV Rank and IV Percentile indicators for crypto options on Deribit and OKX. Available on Professional plan.

IBIT Implied Volatility Heatmap (by Delta):

Heatmaps of model-interpolated implied volatility across option delta at a fixed tenor for the IBIT ETF. The vertical axis represents option delta, with positive values corresponding to call options and negative values to put options.

IBIT Implied Volatility Moneyness Heatmap:

Heatmaps of model-interpolated implied volatility across moneyness buckets at a fixed tenor for the IBIT ETF, ranging from deep out-of-the-money puts to deep out-of-the-money calls.

Crypto Options IV Rank & IV Percentile (BTC, ETH, SOL, XRP, PAXG):

  • Options IV Rank (1 Month) — Where current 1-month ATM implied volatility stands relative to its rolling window range. 0% means IV is at the window low, 100% means at the window high. Calculated as (current IV − window low) / (window high − window low). Returns rolling windows of 30, 100, and 365 days.

  • Options IV Percentile (1 Month) — The percentage of trading days in the rolling window where the 1-month ATM implied volatility was below the current level. A value of 90% means current IV is higher than 90% of observations. Returns rolling windows of 30, 100, and 365 days.

Gamma Exposure (GEX) Strike Heatmaps

Introducing a new suite of Gamma Exposure Strike Heatmaps available exclusively at Glassnode, that visualize how dealer gamma exposure is distributed across strike prices over time. Unlike static snapshot views, these heatmaps track the evolution of GEX concentrations, helping traders identify where volatility may be dampened or amplified.

BTC: GEX Strike Heatmap (3 Months) - Deribit

Green zones indicate positive GEX (dealers long gamma, stabilizing), while red zones indicate negative GEX (dealers short gamma, amplifying moves).

Available timeframes:

Available for BTC, ETH, SOL and XRP

Total Gamma Exposure

Released Total Gamma Exposure (Total GEX), a time series showing the aggregate gamma exposure across all strikes. This metric indicates whether the market is in a long gamma (stabilizing, volatility-dampening) or short gamma (amplifying, volatility-expanding) regime.

Positive values indicate dealers are net long gamma; negative values indicate net short gamma. Use this to identify regime transitions and anticipate volatility shifts.
